LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog theme looks set to continue into 2024

More LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets might be zooming round the corner soon, with the theme rumoured to continue into 2024.

With the arrival of a full LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog theme now available online and in-stores, more models based around SEGA’s iconic video game character will soon be with us. For starters, two BrickHeadz are due for release next month, with 40627 Sonic the Hedgehog and 40628 Miles “Tails” Prower arriving on September 1.

Beyond that, we’re now hearing rumours of even more LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets on the way, thanks to price comparison site brickmerge.de. Listings for two new builds have popped up online, possibly suggesting a pair of playset-based models for early 2024.

There’s not a whole lot of information to go on at this stage, but we do know some basic details regarding the potential LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets. 76995 is reported to be priced at $20.99 for 196 pieces, while 76996 clocks in at 276 pieces for $34.99.

Based on those numbers, we’d be expecting something similar in size to the recently-released 76990 Sonic’s Speed Challenge and minifigures of Knuckles, Big the Cat and Metal Sonic wouldn’t go amiss either.

For now though, this remains just a rumour and should be treated with caution until we have any official confirmation from the LEGO Group.
