Transformers fans have spotted two possible clues as to future LEGO Transformers sets in the promo video for 10358 Soundwave.
As part of the official reveal for the LEGO Icons set, the LEGO Group shared a video showing off 10358 Soundwave's sound brick, highlighting the various sound bites he can make when you press the 'Play' button on his chest – the most of any sound brick so far, according to the LEGO Group during the livestream. However, what some fans are focusing on in the video isn't Soundwave at all, but what's on the wall behind the set.
There are two framed pictures in the background of the video, which also includes 10302 Optimus Prime and 10338 Bumblebee. Those pictures feature an orange crane and a red and white emergency vehicle-style van. For fans of Transformers G1, those vehicles should remind you of two other characters, Grapple and Ratchet.
Ratchet can turn into an ambulance of that very colour scheme, while Grapple's alternate look is an orange crane. Whether those pictures are just there as an Easter egg for fans, or whether it's subtle clues for future LEGO Transformers sets, we can't say for sure – but it's certainly sparking speculation in the comments.
"Teasers in the frames in the background?!" commented mugglestudies20 on Instagram. "I'm in a wave of shock about this new build."
"Came here to say this. Looks like G1 ratchet," agreed lee_daniel_422, while grason_jant added: "And Grapple."
So far, the LEGO Group has spread its Transformers releases out, with 10302 Optimus Prime coming out in 2022, 10338 Bumblebee coming two years later in 2024, and then 10358 Soundwave coming one year on in 2025. Unless that rare is going to speed up significantly, it'll likely be a while before we see Grapple or Ratchet in LEGO form, if indeed they are coming at all.
