LEGO Speed Champions fan is redesigning the Formula 1 sets

The new LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars aren't based on the 2025 liveries, and one fan is seeking to fix this with some redesigns.

The LEGO Group's major partnership with Formula 1 this year is being helmed by a collection of 10 LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 carsone for each team from the 2024 championship. Unfortunately, the sets have one inevitable issue, considering that they were released so close to the start of the 2025 championship.

The new cars are based on the 2024 liveries, since the 2025 liveries had not yet been showcased until after the sets had been revealed, and the designers weren't granted access to them early enough. It's been one fan's mission to rectify this by redesigning the cars with the correct liveries.

The aptly named Pit Lane Bricks Factory on Rebrickable has worked to recreate the 2025 cars for Ferrari, Red Bull, Aston Martin, McLaren and Mercedes, complete with intricate graphics matching those of the official LEGO models.

Comparing the two versions of each car reveals not only how different the fan-designed models are but also the small changes in the liveries between 2024 and 2025. This is just one example of the amazing efforts from the LEGO Speed Champions custom community.

The LEGO Group's plans for Speed Champions in 2026 are rumoured to be much smaller than 2025, leaving little room to cover the 2025 Formula 1 liveries next year. Should Speed Champions be taking a break from Formula 1 after 2025, at least Pit Lane Bricks Factory is here to fill in the gap.
