LEGO Speed Champions rumour proves there's still room for the theme to grow

After 10 years, the latest LEGO Speed Champions rumour suggests that the theme will visit a new colour for the very first time.

With over a decade of sets under its belt, you might think LEGO Speed Champions has already visited every colour of livery possible – but you'd be wrong. The rumoured 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 is said to see the theme dip into bright pink for the very first time. That reflects how Suki's on-screen car looks, as well as offers a bright pop of colour to any multi-car Speed Champions displays.

Whether you're a Fast & Furious fan or not, that means there's reason enough to keep an eye out for the set, rumoured to come out in the summer of 2025. The most common Speed Champions livery colours tend to be green, red, and blue, with dashes of grey and yellow thrown in. The fact that this will be the first time we see pink in the LEGO Speed Champions theme highlights not only that there are still iconic cars not yet touched upon by the theme but also that there are still aesthetic frontiers to cross.

Many people who collect LEGO Speed Champions often display them all together, so the fact that the LEGO Group is continuing to bring out new cars and colours means those same displays don't run the risk of looking too similar. For Speed Champions fans worried by the 10-strong wave of Formula 1 sets, the rumours of 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 are an indication that the designers are far from playing it safe.

After all, Suki's Honda isn't the first set you might think of, with earlier rumours of a female driver making people think we might get Letty or another woman from the franchise. It opens the doors for other brightly-livered cars, whether from Fast & Furious or not.

The fact that Suki was chosen over Letty perhaps comes down to wanting to offer something bright and different to the theme – and highlights that, even after 10 years, there's still room for the theme to grow.
