It’s not just LEGO Icons 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D that has a sticker error, with the Star Trek set’s GWP also gaining an annoying mistake.
Star Trek fans may have felt as if they’d have to wait until the 24th century to see LEGO sets based on the long-running sci-fi franchise, but fortunately that wasn’t to be the case. 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D will drop out of warp later this month as this year’s big Black Friday release, when it launches on November 28.
The Galaxy-class ship from Star Trek: The Next Generation also comes with its own GWP in the shape of 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod, a 261-piece Insiders freebie from the same universe, one that features an odd sticker error, much like the larger LEGO Icons vessel.

A misspelling on 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D’s hidden dedication plaque reads “to boldy go where no one has gone before,” a simple error, but one that will undoubtedly frustrate Star Trek fans who end up shelling out nearly $400 for the set.
That lack of attention to detail also appears to have befallen 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod, with its interior LCARS system display featuring the text ‘Stardate 44885.5’, a reference to Season 4, Episode 24 of the show, one in which Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge’s shuttle is apprehended by Romulans.

That date is further backed up by an image of a D’Deridex-class Romulan Warbird on the model’s sticker. However, the official listing for 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod notes that the display should read ‘Stardate 45076.3’, which would make more sense considering that’s from Season 5, Episode 3 ‘Ensign Ro’, in which the character the GWP’s minifigure is based on makes her debut.
As Ensign Ro didn’t appear until much later in Star Trek: The Next Generation, her inclusion in the LEGO Icons promotional set and what should be the system’s Stardate would have made perfect sense, but the confusion now connects the GWP to a different character, season and episode of the show.

It’s not a huge disaster by any stretch of the imagination, that’s for sure, but with avoidable sticker errors in both 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D and 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod, here’s hoping that the LEGO Icons team will at least address the mistake in future production runs of the former set.
