LEGO Star Wars buildable B1 Battle Droid rumoured for 2025

A buildable LEGO Star Wars B1 Battle Droid is rumoured to be on the way later in 2025, claiming the next spot in the theme’s ongoing series of brick-built droids and characters.

It was surely only a matter of time before the LEGO Group turned its attentions to the humble B1 Battle Droid after 75381 Droideka debuted in May 2024, and the separatist soldier is indeed now said to be in the queue of buildable LEGO Star Wars droids. Typically reliable Instagram user fateful_04 dropped the first word on the rumoured set over on Discord, and Clay_Bricks has reposted it on reddit.

The buildable B1 is said to be numbered 75428, filling in one of the few remaining gaps in the LEGO Star Wars 2025 line-up, and is rumoured to retail for $99.99. That set was previously believed to be launching in August, which means the Battle Droid would arrive alongside the also-rumoured 75430 Ewok.

The LEGO Star Wars theme has toyed with a larger scale B1 Battle Droid once before, in 2000’s 8001 Battle Droid. That 25-year-old set model was built in the medium of Technic, though – while any modern version is likely to be achieved with traditional System elements, matching counterparts such as 75379 R2-D2, 75398 C-3PO and (presumably) the rumoured 75416 Chopper and 75434 K-2SO.

While we probably won’t see much in the way of play functions in a set like this, it would be neat if the B1’s head was interchangeable with Threepio’s to recreate that one scene from Attack of the Clones. Beyond that, a buildable Battle Droid should at least display very nicely with 75381 Droideka – and open the door to a potential buildable B2 Super Battle Droid further down the line…
