LEGO Star Wars' new Death Star is five sets in one

LEGO Star Wars' new Death Star has a familiar feature inspired by a recent Disney build, offering comparisons to a collection of previous sets.

The colossal 75419 Death Star is less than a month away, and our recent review of the giant LEGO Star Wars set has taken a closer look at the functions and form of the 9,000-piece set, with one notable feature taken straight out of 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle.

As described and showcased in our thorough review, these rooms can be removed from 75419 Death Star to act as miniature dioramas for display beyond one of the biggest LEGO sets of all time. The displayable LEGO Disney set has the same kind of functionality, furthering the potential for display.

Some of the rooms that can be removed from the upcoming model, and others that cannot, align with previous LEGO Star Wars dioramas and playsets. 2019's 75229 Death Star Escape and 75246 Death Star Cannon, 2021's 75296 Darth Vader Meditation Chamber, 2022's 75339 Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama and 2023's 75352 Emperor's Throne Room Diorama all offer similar experiences to the rooms in 75419 Death Star.

Together (adjusted for inflation), these sets would cost approximately £316.10 / $351.95 / €348.95, with a fraction of the pieces that go into the £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99 75419 Death Star. The higher parts total of the UCS Death Star includes more details and spaces than depicted in these playsets and dioramas, as you would expect.

While much of 75419 Death Star has been covered at a similar level of detail before, no Death Star set has ever been as complete as the 2025 set with diorama-worthy building techniques. Since most of these previous Death Star dioramas have long since been retired, the 2025 set is also your only bet at depicting these scenes in your collection, unless you picked up the original sets in the years gone by.

75419 Death Star launches for LEGO Insiders on October 1 for £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99. Everyone else will have access to it on October 4. The LEGO Star Wars set will be accompanied by 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack, a free LEGO Insiders GWP available with all purchases of the massive model (while stocks last).
