Even LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star's instructions are an Easter egg

LEGO Star Wars 75419 Death Star is out now, and the launch has revealed that even the instructions are a reference to the space station's history.

This article will discuss spoilers for the instruction manuals of 75419 Death Star. We won't be covering the contents of those manuals, just the first page of each. Click away now to keep it a surprise, or read on to see one of the coolest LEGO instructions Easter eggs.

The recent release of 75419 Death Star has consequently caused the LEGO Group to share the full instruction manuals online, allowing fans to take a closer look at the build. The cover of the six manuals resembles something that you recognise, continuing the story of a scene in the set.

Though Galen Erso's minifigure in 75419 Death Star holds the data-tape featuring the plans for the Death Star as seen in Rogue One, the instruction manuals are meant to look like the datacard that these plans are transferred to, ready for their appearance in A New Hope.

It's a clever way of integrating the datacard for the plans in the set without taking attention away from that data-tape printed tile. The instructions for 75419 Death Star are the plans, and great thought has been given to this design to ensure that it closely resembles the datacard seen on-screen.

Everything from the dark grey base to the etched lines and gold circle has been depicted on the cover of the manuals. A logo corresponding to each of the six manuals is featured in the centre of that gold circle, as well.

It's arguably an even better LEGO instructions manual easter egg than that of 21330 Home Alone, which also paid tribute to a set of plans from film history. As you would expect from adult-targeted LEGO sets, 75419 Death Star's instructions feature more secrets, but we'll let you discover those for yourself either on LEGO.com or physically after buying the build.

75419 Death Star is available now alongside its exclusive gift-with-purchase for £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99, and you can create a life-sized LEGO datacard to pair with the set using M4_Mike's free instructions.
