Former LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga devs working on Funko game

The former TT Games developers behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 are working on a AAA title in partnership with Funko.

TT Games founder Jon Burton left the company in 2019 to establish similarly-named studio 10:10 Games, and seemingly prompted a mass exodus of TT Games employees – including TT Games veteran Arthur Parsons, who was previously Head of Design on titles such as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

A large number of ex-TT Games devs are now employed by 10:10 Games, which has just announced its first video game: a big-budget, AAA title in partnership with Funko, the company behind Pop! Vinyl figures. Billed as an ‘action platformer’, the game is apparently on track for a 2023 release on ‘current and next-gen consoles and PC’.

“Funko is an iconic brand that truly understands the ingredients it takes to develop a world class video game,” said Parsons, who’s now Design Director for 10:10 Games. “10:10 Games is thrilled to bring to life a new experience for their fans and video gamers alike.”

The as-yet-untitled game is said to have ‘major third-party studio integration’, and will be rated ‘T’ for Teen – which positions its audience as slightly more mature than that of TT Games’ family-friendly LEGO titles.

While the LEGO Group is reportedly expanding its video game remit beyond TT Games – especially in the wake of multiple allegations of ‘crunch culture’ at the studio – it apparently won’t be doing so with the studio's former employees at 10:10 Games. TT Games, for its part, is still working on its next LEGO title, which will be ‘based on a major IP’.
