Rumoured LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant still won’t include minifigures

Sonic the Hedgehog may be embracing minifigures, but LEGO Super Mario is rumoured to remain without them in the reported Piranha Plant model.

According to lego_minecraft_goat on Instagram, who first reported on the rumoured 71426 Piranha Plant, the potentially upcoming LEGO Super Mario model is believed to feature no minifigures.

This is par for the course in LEGO Super Mario, which has stuck to the course-building system and a mix of brick-built and specialised controller figures for the past three years.

While it would be appreciated by many to finally get minifigures of Mario, Luigi, Peach or at least the first of those characters, it sounds like this latest rumoured 18+ LEGO Super Mario model won’t be the one to do it.

At the very least, we can set expectations accordingly while we wait to see if this report is accurate, as it has yet to be officially confirmed by the LEGO Group.

Rumour has it that 71426 Piranha Plant will release on November 6, 2023, for $64.99 with 540 pieces included, none of which are believed to go towards a minifigure.
