LEGO teases new football theme named LEGO Editions

The LEGO Group has announced the launch of a new football-related theme in a short teaser shared to social media.

The LEGO Group has shared a video to Instagram announcing the launch of a new theme, LEGO Editions. The clip shows a shot of a real-life football game, which appears to be the Denmark vs. Tunisia game from the World Cup in 2024, before cutting smoothly to a LEGO football, stopped at the foot of a minifigure player, sporting a '10' on the front of the torso.

The slogan, 'Everyone wants a piece,' appears on screen before giving way to a look at what appears to be the logo for a new theme: LEGO Editions. Whether it will be a theme dedicated to football-inspired sets, or sports more generally, is not yet clear, but this early teaser certainly shows that football will be playing a central role.

Previously reported rumours about LEGO Editions suggest that as many as 11 sets are currently rumoured to be debuting next year, including a collection of Formula 1 helmets. The name 'Editions' isn't especially football-focused, so it could point to a more all-encompassing sporting theme, perhaps including the various previously released Formula 1 sets as well.
