LEGO teases a new set coming soon at 'supersonic' speeds

The LEGO Group has teased a new set coming soon—and all signs point at it being a 'supersonic' build.

A cryptic tweet from the LEGO Group heavily implies that a LEGO Concorde will be coming soon, with a tiny version of the iconic plane soaring across a blue background, along with the tagline, "Are you ready to go supersonic?" With the Concorde being one of only two supersonic commercial jets ever in service to date, this is all but confirmation that we'll be getting a brick-built version of the commercial aircraft.

To round this all off, the LEGO Group captioned the tweet, "Prepare for take-off..." Of course, this doesn't give away any details on price, size, or release date, but it does suggest that the set will surely be coming soon.

This isn't the first time that the Concorde has attracted attention from the LEGO community. Back in 2022, a fan-made design gained 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas, but it didn't make it through the LEGO Ideas review stage. However, it could be that (knowing what we know about long processes for LEGO sets) that this is because the LEGO Group already had planes for the Concorde to come into land on official LEGO shelves.

The real-life retired in late 2003, after flying for 27 years, so a release date of this year would mark a full two decades since the Concorde last took to the skies. Indeed, the very last flight took place on November 26, 2003, so could we be looking at a release date of November or December to match that? We won't know for sure until we get more information from the LEGO Group, but we'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we know.
