LEGO Trade In Your Bricks initiative expands to two more cities

More people can trial trading old LEGO bricks for money, as the LEGO Group's Trade In Your Bricks project expands to two more cities.

After an initial report that the option to trade in old LEGO bricks for gift cards would be available to those living in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Stuttgart are now close behind. Hamburg's Europe Shopping Mall will welcome people bringing in old LEGO elements between November 1 and 11, while those in Stuttgart should take their unused bricks to Königsbau Passage between October 31 and November 11. As already announced, Frankfurt's session is currently running in MyZeil between October 17 and 28, so there's only a few days left to give it a go for yourself.

German LEGO fans should sign up for the first LEGO Trade In Your Bricks via this page. When you take your bricks in, you can expect to earn from €8 in LEGO gift cards per kilo for your old bricks. To qualify, the bricks must be loose and unconnected (as in no handing in fully-built sets) and in good condition. LEGO TechnicDUPLO, and electric elements are not accepted, and neither are minifigures, minidolls, wheels, and elements with printed or stickered decorations.

While Germany is on the only country to play host to this initiative in its test phases at the moment, we can only imagine that if it goes well in these three cities, it could well expand to other areas of the world as well.
