LEGO's Johnny Thunder is rumoured to return later this year

Johnny Thunder from LEGO Adventurers is rumoured to return later this year, rounding out a trio of recently revived minifigure characters.

Instagram user exabrickslegogo_ via childish_landino_chronicles reports that some of the rumoured LEGO City 2024 jungle sets will feature Johnny Thunder from LEGO Adventurers. The sets rumoured to feature the character are 60424 Jungle Quad Bike with Red Panda, 60426 Jungle Explorer Off-Road Vehicle and (though the user is less certain on this one) 60425 Jungle Explorer Plane.

Of all the opportunities to bring Johnny Thunder back, the rumoured jungle subtheme makes the most sense. It's believed that it will debut a new Tiger piece and feature vehicles in an orange, olive green and dark blue colour scheme too.

Other LEGO Adventurers characters have been brought back recently including Dr. Kilroy in 10326 Natural History Museum and Pippin Reed in 21344 The Orient Express Train. Johnny Thunder has already returned with a couple of new minifigures long before these two sets though in 70815 Super Secret Police Dropship and 71025 Series 19's Jungle Explorer.

Rumoured to arrive in summer 2024, the presence of Johnny Thunder in the reported LEGO City jungle range would mean that it would be a lot easier to acquire the three LEGO Adventurers characters without looking for a retired minifigure or set. This rumour is especially interesting considering that LEGO Indiana Jones' recent revival is rumoured to be over already.
