A look at the LEGO BrickLink Series 7 Alchemist's shop has showcased a full tour of the interior, including the secrets, stickers and references.
Early reviews of the five LEGO BrickLink Series 7 sets are starting to drop, including the latest addition to a medieval or fantasy collection that will soon span two BrickLink Designer Program Series and a single LEGO Ideas set. 910062 Alchemist's Shop has been detailed by Alex Nunes ahead of crowdfunding later this month.
The 2,319-piece set is designed to be displayed next to both the retired LEGO Ideas 21325 Medieval Blacksmith and the upcoming 910070 Sleepy Dragon Inn in Series 9. While we have seen a comparison with those models and the exterior of the build ahead of crowdfunding, any look at the set's interior has been more limited.
Alex Nunes takes us inside the build to explore every inch of the model and reveal the interior furnishings and details to admire. This includes various alchemical supplies on the ground floor, featuring a four-leaf clover, berries, overhead lamps represented by LEGO grass and shelves full of finished potions.
There's also a hidden chamber behind the bookshelf with a staff, a book, a chest and a frog. This makes better use of the space under the stairs than 21325 Medieval Blacksmith managed to. The retired LEGO Ideas set simply had a space for minifigures to stand while outside under the stairs.
One floor up in the Alchemist's Shop is the first part of the home and the shop itself. This includes a fireplace, what appears to be a stickered item list with prices or recipes, as well as torches with pink flames for a fantastical touch. The equivalent space in 21325 Medieval Blacksmith was populated by a kitchen with a central dining table. The rest of the BrickLink set's living quarters are featured upstairs.
The top floor of 910062 Alchemist's Shop features a bedroom, similar to the LEGO Ideas model, but with one key difference. While the rafters are now used for storage and a rodent, there's a spot next to the bed with a miniature version of 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, referencing the build which started this collection.
The small recreation of the blacksmith looks easy enough to replicate with parts available from other sources. It will be interesting to see whether the upcoming 910070 Sleepy Dragon Inn features a similar reference, perhaps in the form of a miniature Alchemist's Shop.
21325 Medieval Blacksmith has long since retired, but the Alchemist's Shop is going up for pre-order via crowdfunding for £179.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 on February 16 at 8:00am PT. It's part of the seventh series of the BrickLink Designer Program, which includes four other builds.
