More LEGO Animal Crossing images fix a major complaint about the wave

More images for the very first LEGO Animal Crossing wave have appeared online, highlighting a potential fix for a common complaint about the 2024 wave.

While the five LEGO Animal Crossing sets have already been officially revealed by the LEGO Group, we've only been able to look at product images so far. This meant we could see what minifigures and accessories were on the way but not quite see how the sets work in real-life settings – or what the boxes would look like.

Now, thanks to images appearing on Smyths Toys, we can see the sets in action, as well as the newly-designed boxes. A vibrant yellow Animal Crossing print covers much of the boxes' backgrounds, intercut with images of the sets in the same style as photos in the actual game. All of the boxes also contain a promise that the sets are 'customisable', although it's not immediately clear in what way. If so, it would satisfy one of our biggest gripes about the upcoming wave.

The boxes themselves also contain a stamp confirming that the LEGO Animal Crossing sets are an official Nintendo Licensed Product, something that is a real feather in the cap for the wave's LEGO Designer James May.

77046 Julian’s Birthday Party

Price: £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99 Pieces: 170 Release date: March 1, 2024

77046 Julian’s Birthday Party contains just one minifigure but plenty of colourful accessories to flesh out the smallest set of the wave. While the back of the box promises customisation, it's unclear in what sense this is meant, as none of the lifestyle images or images on the box offer any inspiration. Unlike LEGO DREAMZzz as example, it appears LEGO Animal Crossing's customisation is left up to the builder's imagination.

77047 Bunnie's Outdoor Activities

Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 164 Release date: March 1, 2024

The box images for 77047 Bunnie's Outdoor Activities are slightly more revealing, highlighting all the different games and tasks that Bunnie can do, from chopping down trees and catching butterflies to decorating the tent. All of these things and more are tasks from the actual game, capturing the spirit of OG Animal Crossing.

77048 Kapp'n's Island Boat Tour

Price: £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 Pieces: 233 Release date: March 1, 2024

Next up is 77048 Kapp'n's Island Boat Tour, with the box images bringing to life some of the accessories, from the water-splashing fish to the map that Kapp’n the turtle uses to find Marshall on his island.

77049 Isabelle’s House Visit

Price: £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 Pieces: 389 Release date: March 1, 2024

77049 Isabelle’s House Visit's box reveals the first obvious example of customisation, with blue curved windows available to swap out with the brown square ones that are most often pictures. Anyone who's played Animal Crossing will remember the hours spent fine-tuning and personalising their home, so having even a small element of this in the sets is fun to see – and a good sign for any future sets.

77050 Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House

Price: £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99 Pieces: 535 Release date: March 1, 2024

Similarly, there are extra windows in 77050 Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House too, this time mixing it up with some bright pink frames that match the colour of Rosie's door. We'd imagine that if you buy several of these sets, the windows seem fully interchangeable, so the more LEGO Animal Crossing sets you have, the more customisation possibilities you'll get.
