The latest LEGO Winter Village set can be motorised with additional elements, but that's going to be hard for some fans around the world.
2025's Winter Village is 10361 Holiday Express Train, launching in under three weeks on October 1, 2025, for LEGO Insiders or on October 4 for everyone else. The contents of the set offer a charming Christmas experience, as stated in our review, but the back of the box advertises that the set can be motorised with three additional purchases.
Adding 88009 Hub, 88010 Remote Control and 88011 Train Motor to the £109.99 / $129.99 / €119.99 build will let you run the train around the included track, and whatever festive decoration you place in the middle. It's a pricey upgrade for fans to consider, coming to a total of £77.97 / $86.97 / €86.97 on top of the cost of the set itself.
For those who wish to pursue this upgrade, price isn't your only obstacle, though, as some regions list these necessary elements as being temporarily out of stock or retired completely. While anyone in the UK can grab these elements online without issue, enthusiasts in the US and Europe will find it impossible to find at least one of the parts officially.
It's worse for fans in Australia, where none of the elements are currently available for individual purchase. That's not to say that motorising 10361 Holiday Express Train is entirely impossible, though. All three of the electronic elements can be found in the recent 60470 Explorer Train, which is available worldwide now. The only downside is that this LEGO City set will cost you £179.99 / $209.99 / €199.99.
