Immediate Media’s officially-licensed LEGO magazines continue to alternate their free cover gifts between must-have minifigures and less-desirable mini builds. The good news for fans of Marvel’s web-faced wonder is that LEGO Spider-Man magazine Issue 9 is now available from UK newsstands, complete with a rare super villain minifigure.
Mysterio is the Spidey bad guy of choice this month, with this version of the character only having previously appeared in one pricey LEGO Marvel set to date. The only way to obtain the minifigure so far has been to purchase the much more expensive 76178 Daily Bugle, although a slight variant version of the villain was included with
Quentin Beck’s alter ego features an eye-catching satin trans-light blue helmet, with a faceless grey head lurking beneath, a purple cape, pearl gold hands and green flame elements to represent the character's powers of illusion.
LEGO Spider-Man magazine Issue 9 is priced at just £4.74, so grabbing hold of the minifigure makes a lot of sense, especially when compared to the £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 cost of 76178 Daily Bugle.
In addition, the next issue page of the publication reveals that LEGO Spider-Man magazine Issue 10 will come with both a now-standard Spider-Man minifigure and a brick-built Spider-Crawler. There’s no word as to the exact date when the title will go on sale, but fans should aim to look out for the magazine sometime in early July 2024.
