Looking at what rumoured LEGO sets are said to come in 2025 has made some retiring LEGO sets all the more tempting.
There's nothing worse than being excited about a new LEGO set and then realising that its perfect companion set has just retired for good. Thankfully, there's still time in 2024 to pick up retiring sets that would pair well with rumoured LEGO sets expected to come out in 2025.
We've scoured our list of rumoured sets for 2025 to see what retiring sets for this year might be worth picking up while you still can. Whether they're companion sets that you don't want to miss or parts of a wider collection that were meant to be displayed together, read on for some builds that might shoot to the top of your priority list.
LEGO Disney 40613 Mini Disney Palace of Agrabah

The series of LEGO Disney mini castles is one of the more budget-friendly collections to dedicate yourself to, and you won't need a massive shelf to display them all either. With a typical piece count of around 500 pieces, there's no sign of the collection slowing down, with it even expanding outside of castles in 2025 with the rumoured 43261 Mini Encanto House.
With a rumoured price of $19.99, it's cheaper than the mini Disney castles that have come before, suggesting that it might not be to the exact same scale. However, if tiny Disney buildings are your cup of tea, now is the time to pick up one retiring build from the list: 40613 Mini Disney Palace of Agrabah. To make it even more tempting, it's currently reduced by 30% in both the UK and the US on the official LEGO store, bringing the price down to just £27.99 / $27.99.
LEGO Marvel display-focused sets
LEGO Marvel isn't the most display-focused of themes but if brick-built memorabilia from across the MCU is what you're after, then you're in luck for 2025. There's said to be another entry in the small Marvel bust series with 75327 Iron Man Helmet, expected to release in April 2025.
To truly round off a LEGO Marvel display, you might want to pick up some other display-ready builds. First and foremost, capture the showdown between Iron Man and Captain America on your shelf by pairing the buildable helmet with
Last but not least,
LEGO NINJAGO 71793 Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon

There are said to be at least two more dragons coming to the LEGO NINJAGO theme in 2025, in the form of 71832 Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos and 71836 Arc Dragon of Focus. When it comes to brick-built dragons, no one does it better than LEGO NINJAGO but if you want a full array of buildable beasts, there's only a few months left to pick up 71793 Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon.
With specially printed elements and golden claws that play well with the red scales, 71793 Heatwave Transforming Lava Dragon is a worthy entry to the world of LEGO dragons – and well worth picking up while you still can.
LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 sets
2025 will be a big year for LEGO Formula 1 fans, with LEGO Speed Champions expected to bring out a car for every single theme. It's not the first time that LEGO Speed Champions has tackled Formula 1, however – and two previous examples are retiring this year. If you want to compare the older models with the new, there are just a few months left to add
LEGO Technic 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Last but not least, with 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray expected to come out in March 2025 with a similar price and piece count to 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, you might want to pick up the latter for a technical companion. It's hard to say whether they'll both be at directly the same scale but it seems likely – and two icons of American motoring will always look good side by side.
