A play-scale version of Jango Fett’s Slave I is said to be joining the LEGO Star Wars line-up this summer, following hot on the heels of the rumoured UCS iteration.
This year’s May the 4th set is currently believed to be 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship, a $300 Ultimate Collector Series version of Slave I in prequel trilogy hues. That originally spelled bad news for fans holding out for the first play-scale Jango Fett ship since the original in 2002 – but according to reliable source Max Baut (as re-reported by Clay_Bricks on reddit), a smaller and more affordable version of Slave I is actually on the way in August.
75433 will apparently be a play-scale rendition of Jango Fett’s Slave I, likely called Jango Fett’s Starship given recent LEGO Star Wars naming conventions (see 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship), coming in at $70 with 707 pieces in the box. That’s only 114 more pieces than Boba’s downsized 2021 Slave I, so we’re probably not looking at something on the scale of (for example)

It’s currently rumoured to include three minifigures: Jango Fett, Boba Fett and a Kaminoan. The UCS set is said to include a highly-detailed version of Jango, but whether that same minifigure makes its way into the cheaper and smaller set remains to be seen. Most recent Ultimate Collector Series sets with minifigures have at least one exclusive character, so it feels more likely that young Boba will be repeated between the two sets than Jango.
It may seem surprising for the LEGO Group to release two different versions of the same ship within a relatively narrow window, but there’s plenty of precedent for this sort of thing. 75382 TIE Interceptor arrived while its play-scale equivalent was still available in
Serving up two different versions of Jango Fett’s Slave I for two different audiences feels like a smart move, satisfying both camps at the same time – albeit at the expense of something else that could have taken one of those slots in the portfolio. That’s assuming this rumour pans out as expected, of course. For now, take it with the customary grain of salt…
