Anyone who remembers Harry Finkel's (aka Hanwasyellowfirst) LEGO Ideas project centred on the cottage from Snow White will likely have seen the similarities the proposed set bears to the recently-released 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage. Indeed, the fan designer himself has expressed his disappointment at seeing the set make it onto shelves, while acknowledging that he knows many factors go into the launch of a new LEGO set.
LEGO Ideas has helped to bring dozens of fan-designed sets to life, building on the community aspect of LEGO building that so many people love. However, this also isn't the first time that such circumstances have arisen.
