More and more retiring LEGO sets are selling out for good at LEGO.com ahead of Black Friday, across themes including Star Wars, Ideas, Marvel, Harry Potter, Disney and more.
Since we last reported on LEGO sets selling out permanently online, dozens more models have now moved to ‘Sold out’ status at LEGO.com in the UK and US, which means that – short of a miracle – they won’t be available to order again from the official store. If you were holding out on buying these until Black Friday, you’ve now missed your chance (unless you can find them in stores or at third-party retailers).
In the UK, the latest casualties of finite production lines include 31120 Medieval Castle,
But that’s not all: 76240 Batmobile Tumbler, 75365 Yavin 4 Rebel Base, 21056 Taj Mahal, 60380 Downtown and 42145 Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter are all also marked as ‘Sold out’, so the ship has permanently sailed on those at LEGO.com. The Tumbler has been hanging around on shelves since 2021, but 60380 Downtown – the largest LEGO City set to date – only launched in summer 2023.
Over in the US, the most noteworthy new sell-outs include 21329 Fender Stratocaster, 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell, 42605 Mars Space Base and Rocket, 76249 Venomised Groot and 77012 Fighter Plane Chase. They join previously-sold-out sets including
This is essentially a cautionary tale on the perils of waiting for Black Friday to pull the trigger on retiring LEGO sets, because you never know when they’re going to disappear for good. If there’s a retiring LEGO set you just can’t bear to miss out on, you might be better off buying as soon as possible to avoid disappointment come Black Friday.
