Rumoured LEGO 2025 D2C could be the return of familiar IP

A recent rumour for a LEGO 2025 direct-to-consumer set could mean the return of a familiar intellectual property given other rumours as of late.

As reported previously, rumour has it that a massive LEGO model is coming in 2025 for $229.99 with the codename 'Clown' based on an IP. The codename has led some to believe that this may be another Simpsons set related to Krusty the Clown, though codenames don't necessarily relate to the contents of their set.

As a comment on reddit notes, tandnbricks' reported April Fool's Instagram story contained several statements, of which some were stated to be true and others false. The statements included the return of LEGO The Simpsons as well as 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck not being a one-off set as well as more LEGO The Lord of the Rings in 2025, Pokémon sets, a future Endor Master Builder Series model and more LEGO Indiana Jones.

All of these statements – provided tandnbricks shared them in the first place as the Instagram story is no longer live – remain rumours at the time of writing and there is a good chance that any of them could be entirely false, given that the post is said to have been shared on April 1.

That said, one of the other most recent rumours to surface is a LEGO Horizon video game, which could be what the second statement in the reported post refers to. That is also only a rumour at the time of writing and it's worth taking everything in this article with a pinch of salt or more.

It's worth noting that 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr appears to be teasing another LEGO The Lord of the Rings set, though nothing has been confirmed and likely won't be for some time.

It may be another sign that LEGO The Simpsons will be back one day following 71006 The Simpsons House in 2014 and 71016 Kwik-E-Mart in 2015 as well as the most recent LEGO The Simpsons set – 41632 Homer Simpson & Krusty the Clown from 2018.

All that is confirmed for 2025 so far is the release of LEGO Mario Kart and a single LEGO Icons model as well as some BrickLink Designer Program models but rumours are already starting to appear.
