The rumoured LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum could follow in LEGO Marvel's footsteps and adopt a modular style – but should it?
The LEGO Group has refused to stick to any specific formula when it comes to its large DC releases each year, between a detailed vehicle build in 2021's 76240 Batmobile Tumbler, a unique take on the Batcave in 2023's 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box, and an artsy take on Gotham with 2024's 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City.
With another large build rumoured to join LEGO DC in 2025, 76300 Arkham Asylum is said to focus on the criminal asylum in Gotham, said to be priced at $299.99 for 2,953 and due for release in September. While we can't say for sure if that set is on the way or what it could potentially look like, some fans have speculated that it would be a modular building, similar to LEGO Marvel 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum or the more recent 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion.
Although that's proven to be a common theme for buildings in LEGO Marvel, that doesn't necessarily mean that LEGO DC will follow the same pattern. Brick Fanatics' Matthew would even argue that the theme perhaps shouldn't follow the same modular blueprint. Join him for a closer look at the pros and cons of superhero-themed modulars, to see whether that style of brick-built structure would work for the iconic Arkham Asylum.
