A second take on the LEGO Marvel Iron Man helmet set is rumoured to be coming, offering a second chance to fix issues present five years ago.
75327 Iron Man Mk. 6 Helmet is rumoured, by the usually reliable Clay Bricks on Instagram via the also reliable lego_minecraft_goat, to be launching in June 2025. The recreation of the Mark 6 helmet wouldn't be the first brick-built replica of this helmet though, thanks to 2020's 76165 Iron Man Helmet which was one of the first of such sculptures in any theme.
Five years on, the original LEGO Marvel helmet isn't without some issues as we touched on in our review from 2020. A new take on the iconic helm five years later would offer the chance to amend some of the issues with a potentially higher budget according to the rumours. Take all LEGO rumours with caution an official announcement is made confirming otherwise.
As we mentioned in our 2020 review, the shaping of the original LEGO Marvel helmet model is unfortunately let down by sharp angles and ineffective part usage that may be down to the size of the budget for the 480-piece, £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 build. Some of these problems include a flat face, a protruding jawline, deep eyes and a wide head, all of which would benefit from smaller plates and tiles for sharper, for accurate renderings of the helmet.
We also stated in our review that these problems may have been a result of a budget that wasn't large enough to do the iconic helmet justice. Even after the recent price increases, 75327 Iron Man Mk. 6 Helmet is rumoured to cost $69.99 and helmets since the original set have had up to 602 elements.
A new era of LEGO Marvel five years later might be able to provide the perfect opportunity to perfect the LEGO Iron Man helmet once and for all, amending some of the issues of the earlier helmet, which to be fair was one of the first LEGO helmets in any theme too.
The LEGO Marvel, Star Wars and other designers have likely learnt much since the start of the brick-built helmet recreation and while nothing has been confirmed, the five-year anniversary would be a perfect time to show just how far the LEGO helmet sculptures have come.
