Rumoured LEGO NINJAGO Bounty might be less villainous than expected

The minifigure selection included in the rumoured upcoming LEGO NINJAGO 71848 The Temple Bounty may not be all that villainous.

It looks as if 2025 could be another packed year for LEGO NINJAGO releases, with multiple new sets having already dropped on January 1. In addition, recent rumours have hinted at even more impressive builds arriving from the theme in the months to come, including the potentially massive 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops.

One rumoured LEGO NINJAGO model that might be trying something a little different this year though is 71848 The Temple Bounty. It was previously suggested that the set could be based on the retired 71705 Destiny’s Bounty, albeit with a villainous twist, which seems to be backed up to some degree by a new post from reliable Instagram source, fateful_04.

Potentially taking a leaf out of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy’s playbook, 71848 The Temple Bounty is said to boast a mostly black and red colour scheme (plus black stand), with the 2,387-piece ship having distinctly villainous overtones.

However, that dark feel won’t apparently extend to all of the rumoured minifigure selection for the $199.99 LEGO NINJAGO model, which is said to include six characters. 71848 The Temple Bounty may only come with one member of the Forbidden Five in the shape of the first-ever version of the shadowy Zarkt, with the remaining minifigures being ninjas, and no Dragonians.

The report also states that 71848 The Temple Bounty may originally have been set to include more minifigures, one of which might have been Morro (the Elemental Master of Wind), but that now appears to not be the case.

For now, treat all of the above information with caution until any official details regarding 71848 The Temple Bounty are forthcoming.
