The latest LEGO NINJAGO rumours include the return of a 2015 character ten years later, and their return isn't too far-fetched.
Fateful_lego on Instagram shared a few LEGO NINJAGO rumours earlier today, including the tease that Morro will be back in the theme next year. Morro was the villain of Possession and was planned to be part of the villainous team in Day of the Departed before being reformed and returning peacefully to the Departed Realm. While all LEGO rumours should be taken with caution given the current state of the LEGO rumour mill, this particular claim may not be as outlandish as you'd expect.
Characters from other realms returning isn't as difficult as it once was in NINJAGO when travel between realms was more difficult. Now that the new era of NINJAGO has merged all 16 realms into one world, that task is much easier theoretically – though we've explored only a handful of these realms so far.
The most recent season of the show has similarly reiterated that all 16 realms have been merged, despite two of them being destroyed. It's worth noting that though the events of Possession lead to the destruction of Djinjago and the Cursed Realm, the latter lives on through the Preeminent in the Departed Realm (a realm within a realm) and Djinjago is in the process of being reborn through Arrakore's efforts from a grain of sand.
Wyatt responded to another post more recently, which specifically asked about the Departed realm and whether we will see or learn more about its place in the merged world in a future season. The answer is clear – the Departed Realm has a place in a future NINJAGO season in some form.
This recent reveal combined with the rumour that Morro is returning adds some weight to the report, but you should still take it with ample caution just in case. Another point to note given this rumour is that a new wind elemental master has already been revealed in the form of Euphrasia in
Euphrasia has been featured fairly frequently in the first seasons of LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising and the consistent focus on this character and her growing mastery over wind would align with the return of Morro, creating an interesting dynamic between the ex-villain and previous master of wind and the friend and current elemental master.
Suddenly, the return of Morro in NINJAGO next year doesn't seem quite as unlikely though it remains a rumour for now. Either way, there's clearly a lot planned for LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising in the future. Here's what's currently rumoured for the theme next year.
