Six Separatist minifigures we want in the LEGO Star Wars MTT

Six Separatist minifigures we want in the LEGO Star Wars MTT

We're digging deep into The Clone Wars to see which minifigures could (and which we want to) appear in the rumoured LEGO Star Wars 2025 MTT.

Rumour has it that LEGO Star Wars will receive a $150 MTT model next year and further rumours indicate that it will not be coloured brown, but grey and blue as the vehicles were frequently during The Clone Wars as part of the identity of the Confederacy of Independent Systems (or the Separatists).

That isn't so surprising when you consider that 75401 Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor is already based on The Clone Wars as the animated series continues to return– minus the odd eyes – to LEGO Star Wars. While the rumour of 75435 MTT is still to be taken with caution, these vehicles appeared several times in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and several prominent Separatist characters have become associated with them.

That said, at the rumoured price of $149.99, it would be great to see an unrelated exclusive Separatist minifigure thrown in for good measure, even if it might not make complete sense in-story. Here are six such minifigures we'd like to see in 75435 MTT, as long as the rumour turns out to be accurate.

Wat Tambor

Due to his involvement in the invasion of Ryloth where blue and grey MTTs were frequently used, Wat Tambor is a clear pick for the rumoured LEGO Star Wars 2025 set and though he was featured as a digital minifigure in the Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars game, he's never been recreated as a physical minifigure and would likely need a new mould for his respirator device. Aside from that, this would be a long-awaited addition to LEGO Star Wars.

Admiral Trench

Pairing up with Wat Tambor (though never directly related to MTTs) is Admiral Trench who SCPBrix also hopes will receive a minifigure as they have mocked up using the newer LEGO Hagrid body element but at the cost of two of his six arms. Otherwise, this strategy works wonders for the larger character and something similar to Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog would work to depict the spider-like head properly too. Though Admiral Trench has never been directly involved with MTTs, we're not sure where else we'd ever get this obscure character in LEGO Star Wars.

Count Dooku

lego 75107 Dooku

An updated take on Count Dooku would be another great pick for the rumoured MTT since his last minifigure appearance was in 2013's 75017 Duel on Geonosis. Updating that minifigure with more details would be an easy and relatively inexpensive addition to the rumoured set, though his original lightsaber hilt element has not been seen since this model. Dooku's relation to MTTs is more direct than that of Trench and would make more sense to be included and updated.

General Grievous

Similarly making sense to be included in the rumoured MTT would be a new (or reused) General Grievous minifigure. The multi-armed character has been seen in several LEGO Star Wars sets and last appeared in 2020. General Grievous has been featured in episodes that also included MTTs and theoretically would be eligible for a spot in such a model, but treads relatively safe and easy territory for the LEGO Group since the last minifigure was about as perfect as you can imagine.

Mar Tuuk

Captain Mar Tuuk was also involved in the invasion of Ryloth and alongside Wat Tambor would be a great addition to the rumoured LEGO Star Wars set that would not necessarily need any new elements as StarWarsMasterBuilder. That said, a new hat piece would go a long way in accurately portraying this obscure character.

Tactical Droid

Rounding out the list is another excuse to re-release the LEGO Star Wars Tactical Droid minifigure. Though not quite as high-ranking as anyone else in this report, this class of droid remains exclusive to 2011's 7868 Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter and any chance to pick this minifigure up again (or an updated version of it) would be appreciated for newer LEGO Star Wars enthusiasts.
