Six of the best September LEGO sets to buy for the minifigures

Six of the best September LEGO sets to buy for the minifigures

There are plenty of tempting minifigures to pick up in the LEGO sets released in September, and we've picked out the best of them.

If the highlight of any LEGO set is the minifigures, we've got the list for you. Read on for a breakdown of every LEGO set launching this month that's almost worth buying for the minifigures alone. Bonus: you also get a buildable set thrown in (at least for most of them).

LEGO Harry Potter 76456 Advent Calendar 2025

lego harry potter 76456 advent calendar 2025 review 4 1024x683

LEGO advent calendars are often bought largely for the minifigures, but LEGO Harry Potter 76456 Advent Calendar is the best of the bunch this year when it comes to the characters. It includes eight exclusive minifigures with four exclusive Christmas jumper torso designs between them, themed to each Hogwarts house. It's every Christmas-loving Potterhead's dream!

LEGO Wicked 75691 Glinda & Elphaba Bookends

LEGO 75691 WEB SEC01 NOBG 1024x576

We finally have LEGO Wicked minifigures in 75691 Glinda & Elphaba Bookends, including an impressively wide-skirted Glinda. Indeed, most of the heavyhitters from the first movie are featured: Elphaba in her final scene outfit, Fiyero plus a romantic rose, the Wizard, Madam Morrible, and fan favourite Pfannee, as played by Bowen Yang. The printed details on all but Fiyero and Pfannee are incredible to behold and even the two slightly plainer minifigures are still authentic to their on-screen depictions.

LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka the Chocolate Factory 10 1024x683

There are nine exclusive minifigures in 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, but the highlights have to be Wonka himself and his two Oompa Loompas. Every effort has been made to make them accurate to the original movie, with new prints to keep them on-brand and authentic. While the rest of the line-up aren't quite as eye-catching, the old-school torsos on the kids are still tempting in and of themselves.

LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum

LEGO Batman 76300 Arkham Asylum 20 edited 1024x576

LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum is the DC LEGO set everyone has been waiting for. While many of the minifigures are sporting Arkham jumpsuits, the detailed face prints and accessories still make this set a must-have for any DC superhero fan. Poison Ivy is a special favourite, but there are honestly too many to pick from.

LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship

LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrows Pirate Ship review 62 1024x287

LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship offers a modern return to some tried and tested Pirates of the Caribbean characters, as well as three newcomers making their LEGO debut with Cotton (plus pirate), Anamaria, and Marty. Jack Sparrow is an absolute triumph, but every character has an impressive level of detail. For Pirates fans, there are a lot of parts that will be useful for characters across the high seas, even if you don't want to keep them displayed on the ship itself.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Of course, we can't talk about minifigures in September without mentioning 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. There's virtually no misses in this series, covering most of the major bases from the movie, as well as some more niche entries. We've even got two Spider-Animals to boot – what more could you ask for?
