With so many new LEGO sets having been released on June 1, 2024, here are six essential models that you definitely shouldn’t overlook.
As a new month arrives, so too have over 90 new LEGO sets, all of which come in at a variety of price points and piece counts. While many popular themes are covered this month, some with multiple releases, the challenge for builders then becomes which models should they purchase?
For collectors with enough disposable income, a major release such as 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr is on obvious choice, whereas those with more modest budgets can pick up all kinds of smaller pocket money builds including 75391 Captain Rex Y-wing Microfighter and 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest.
However, many other LEGO sets may simply get overlooked in the rush to pick up new models based on familiar IPs, so here are six recommendations for builds that are also worth your time and money.
60440 Yellow Delivery Truck

You can’t really get much more meta than a LEGO truck delivering LEGO sets. That’s exactly what you can expect with 60440 Yellow Delivery Truck, a 1,061-piece vehicle priced at £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 that also comes with opening sides and rear, a forklift truck, four minifigures and (for some reason) a hot-dog stand.
10334 Retro Radio

We’ve seen the sound brick included in a number of recent LEGO sets, but the interactive element plays an essential part in 10334 Retro Radio. The 806-piece model comes in at £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 and not only features snippets of radio chatter and music, but also allows builders to place a mobile device inside to play their own music.
21349 Tuxedo Cat

Comprised of 1,710 pieces and retailing for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99, 21349 Tuxedo Cat offers up a near life-size version of a real feline. The brick-built moggy can be placed in a number of poses and also features two sets of interchangeable eyes, with the added bonus being you won’t ever have to empty its litter tray.
40719 Traditional Chess Set

One truly unique release for June 2024 is 40719 Traditional Chess Set, a 743-piece set that can be picked up for £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99. Not only can the build be assembled as a fully playable version of the classic strategy game, but the model can also be used to create checkers pieces instead, bringing plenty of variety to the set.
71821 Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech

If you don’t usually give LEGO NINJAGO sets a second look, then you may change your mind when you buy
75373 Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack

The smallest (and most affordable) of a pair of LEGO Star Wars models based on the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3, 75373 Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack is priced at £19.99 / $19.99 / €21.99. The 108-piece set includes a Mandalorian Nite Owl, Mandalorian Warrior and two all-new Imperial Commando minifigures, all of which are perfect for army building.
It's worth noting that both 60440 Yellow Delivery Truck and 21349 Tuxedo Cat are currently out of stock in Europe, with the latter on back order for less than a week. To find out more about every single LEGO set released on June 1, 2024, be sure to check out our full buyer’s guide right here.
