None can doubt that LEGO Castle builds are more successful in the BrickLink Designer Program and there are some promising models in Series 6.
After Krackenator's Forest Stronghold was funded in eight minutes and sold out in Series 6 of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program just hours after crowdfunding began, there can be no further doubt that the BrickLink Designer Program audience has a craving for castle creations.
It seems all but assured that at least one medieval model will be picked in the Series 6 selection and assuming this will be the case, here are six promising sets that might make the cut. They're just a small selection of the 296 models in Series 6, 54 of which are labelled as medieval submissions. You can take a closer look at the rest by clicking here.
Wizard's Tower

The uniquely built Wizard's Tower by zegel0802 has a structure that only a wizard could love, appearing as if might fall over with the slightest breeze. Still, it would look great on display and offer something different from the usual LEGO BrickLink Designer Program castle sets. It has 2,485 parts and three minifigures.
Bandit Lord's Hideout

The Wolfpack minifigures that recently returned to the portfolio and debuted on Pick a Brick will need a base of operations and there are quite a few in Series 6. We've singled out Taris20's Bandit Lord's Hideout though for its surrounding landscape and diverse structure. It would be a worthy base for the Wolfpack in the modern era of LEGO Castle.
Wolf's Den

The familiar Jazlecraz is also pitching a base for the Wolfpack but on a much smaller scale. Their idea is for an abandoned structure to be home to both a handful of Wolfpack members as well a griffin who has made a nest at the top of the tower. The addition of the mythical creature makes this model stand out from the crowd of LEGO BrickLink Designer Program castle creations.
Classic Dragons

As well as its factions and structures, another iconic aspect of LEGO Castle is the classic dragons that populated some sets. Vanquished is proposing an upscaled recreation of these dragons that pay tribute to the retro piece. Whether they'd be as popular as a standard castle is up for debate, but it would certainly be something different for the BrickLink Designer Program that wouldn't be nearly as expensive either.
Medieval River Crossing

MikeBrickalotti's Medieval River Crossing is one of a couple of bridge-based builds featured in Series 6 and this one more closely resembles a fortified structure that would work well in any medieval display and act as an interesting setpiece for battle between factions.
Lion's Keep

The Lion's Keep by LegoBrickHammer may be one of the more likely contenders in Series 6 of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program for offering a complete and impressive castle model for one of the major factions in LEGO Castle. It even incorporates the Wolfpack planning a break-in to boot. It's a safe bet for the BrickLink team and we'll be keeping a close eye on it as the crowd vote continues.
