LEGO Speed Champions' movie car range is embracing the odd and iconic next year, and we've got a few more suggestions for the collection.
Following our explorative list earlier this month, we're back with six more LEGO Speed Champions cars that would work (and in some cases subvert expectations) in the theme's movie car range. The collection is expanding beyond Fast & Furious and 007 next year with
With this criterion in mind, read on to see what else we would love to see added to LEGO Speed Champions' film car range in the future. This is only speculation on our part.
Ghostbusters' ECTO-1

The LEGO Group is all too familiar with Ghosbusters, but it has been a while since the last minifigure-scale ECTO-1 model. Speed Champions offers an easy excuse for such a set, revisiting the build seen in the 2014 set. The only issue is the four necessary minifigures, when Speed Champions is used to one per single-car set. That said, there will be an exception to this rule next year.
The Simpsons' The Homer

While not from a movie, we're making an exception for the quirky masterpiece that is The Homer. The Simpsons' vehicle from the show's second season is designed by the titular character and immediately brought his brother's company to a close. The monstrous design would be a challenge for the LEGO designers to approach, but such an iconic vehicle needs some kind of LEGO set eventually, especially now that LEGO The Simpsons is back on the table with
Mad Max's Pursuit Special Interceptor

The modified 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop, as seen in the first Mad Max movie from 1979, would be an interesting addition to Speed Champions to lean into modified car culture and cinematic nostalgia at once. Alternatively, the beat-up Interceptor from the 2015 film offers an opportunity for a rougher vehicle, better representing the wasteland from the franchise.
Mr. Bean's Mini

Speed Champions' history with Mini vehicles is short, but it exists. This could pave the road for a future collaboration between the LEGO Group, Mini and Mr. Bean. The iconic green and black car isn't a particularly fast vehicle, but it is consistently pitched for a LEGO set. Though it didn't win the '90s Throwback challenge on LEGO Ideas, Speed Champions is the next best bet for this unusual car, ideally with the armchair on top as pictured above.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has been pitched before on LEGO Ideas as well, and the vintage flying car from stage and screen would make a unique addition to LEGO Ideas, almost as quirky as our suggested set for The Homer. The 1968 movie, based on the 1964 book, would be new territory for the LEGO Group, and the number of metallic elements a set based on the car would demand may be an issue in development.
TRON's Light Runner

LEGO TRON has been off-shelves for a long time, only briefly available in the form of 2018's 21314 TRON: Legacy until the end of 2019. The TRON: Legacy movie wasn't just home to new Light Cycles, though; the film also featured the four-wheeled Light Runner. The futuristic vehicle has been recreated with LEGO elements by fans online, and would be a way for the LEGO Group to return to TRON through the familiarity of Speed Champions. It's another quirky pick for a future Speed Champions movie car, but if we can have Lightning McQueen, surely the likes of the Light Runner aren't impossible either.
