A LEGO Ideas fan designer is back with their third SpongeBob SquarePants project, gaining support from the community once again.
Fan designer lanko has refined a SpongeBob Squarepants for the third time in hopes of getting it turned into a real LEGO Ideas set. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Krusty Krab was first seen in 2022, then again in 2023, and now for the third time in 2025.
This latest iteration is an entire rebuild from the one that came before, now made up of 2,163 pieces (a slight decrease from before) and eight characters (SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Fred, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, and Gary).
"This has been a passion project of mine for quite some time, I've met a lot of great people through this project and I'm extremely grateful for the support this keeps getting!" wrote lanko in the description.
Could this be the third time lucky for LEGO SpongeBob? The LEGO Ideas Parking Lot was seemingly designed to make licensed LEGO Ideas sets easier to get across the line, so now could be the perfect moment to finally get a brick-built version of the Krusty Krab. For now though, the set's future is in the hands of the LEGO Ideas team.
