A rumour for the next Star Wars movie posits the unexpected return of a Star Wars: The Clone Wars character played by Jeremy Allen White.
Star Wars' next movie – The Mandalorian & Grogu – is to be released on May 22, 2026, at the time of writing and while we know of at least two characters that will feature in the film based on the title alone, Deadline has shed some light on another inclusion. According to the reliable outlet, none other than Rotta will be featured in the film with a role bigger than just a cameo, played by The Bear's Jeremy Allen White.
It's an unexpected revelation for the film, especially since Rotta has only appeared on-screen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie and has been mentioned and featured in a handful of books as well. The chance to see the Huttlet all grown up is exciting for longtime Star Wars fans and serves as the latest page being taken out of animated Star Wars content for Dave Filoni's growing Mandalorian corner of the Star Wars universe.
While nothing has been confirmed and it's too early for rumours, it seems plausible that we'll be getting LEGO Star Wars sets based on The Mandalorian & Grogu given the popularity of the series in the theme, which includes two new releases next month.
Assuming that this will be the case, a second LEGO figure for Rotta is entirely possible. The first figure of the character appeared in a pair of LEGO Star Wars sets based on the original movie – 7675 AT-TE Walker and 7680 The Twilight. Deadline has a good track record of Star Wars movie news but we'd advise taking the casting of Jeremy Allen White as Rotta in The Mandalorian & Grogu with a pinch of salt for now just in case. The film is currently scheduled to be released on May 22, 2026, and a wave of new LEGO Star Wars sets is around the corner, coming next month.
