Two new LEGO Super Mario sets have launched in the US

The LEGO Super Mario theme has expanded once again today, with two all-new sets available online and in stores in the US right now.

Despite the news that all LEGO Super Mario sets will be retiring next year, there’s still plenty for fans of the video game-based theme to look forward to. Three new models will be arriving online and in stores worldwide from January 1, 2024 and there are rumours of at least eight more to come as part of a potential summer wave of builds.

However, two new LEGO Super Mario sets are now available to purchase in the US, with 71429 Nabbit at Toad’s Shop and 71430 Penguin Family Snow Adventure launching today. The rest of us will have to wait until January 1 to pick up the models, when they’ll be joined globally by 71428 Yoshis’ Egg-cellent Forest, 71431 Bowser’s Muscle Car and 71432 Dorrie’s Sunken Shipwreck Adventure.

For now though, US fans can get to grips building 71429 Nabbit at Toad’s Shop, a 230-piece set that includes brick-built versions of a Yellow Toad and Nabbit. The $19.99 model also comes with a small shop stocked with assorted toy and food items, an ice-cream dispenser and a shopping cart. Using interactive figures from the LEGO Super Mario theme (not included), it’s possible to stomp on Nabbit’s bag to gain various digital items.

71430 Penguin Family Snow Adventure offers up a 228-piece frozen playset for $19.99, complete with a buildable ice cave, an ice slide that can be turned into a skating rink, two fish figures and a sled. The LEGO Super Mario model also comes with a brick-built penguin, a baby penguin and a Goomba wearing a winter hat. Interactive features include the ability to reunite the baby penguin with its parent, sledge on the ice, defeat the Goomba and more.
