Someone's done what we've all been wanting since LEGO Mario Kart's reveal

Many LEGO fans have had one thing on their minds since the reveal of the LEGO Mario Kart sets – and now someone's done it.

YouTuber Joseph's Machines has dedicated his channel to creating complex Rube Goldberg machines out of at-home objects to achieve small everyday tasks. Now, he's turned his hand towards LEGO Mario Kart, creating a race out of boxes, stationery, and other household objects that brings the sets to life.

The LEGO Mario Kart sets themselves come with buildable characters, karts, and some weapons, but seeing them actually race around people's houses brings them to life in a way we've not seen before – but every Mario Kart fan has been wanting since they were first revealed.

A particular favourite is a box coming down to 'squash' Yoshi, much like a Thwomp would in the game. It even leaves behind a Yoshi-shaped mark on the ground as Mario races on by.

Other features include a function for a brick-built green shell to sneak up on Toad, as well as a way for Mario to leapfrog Baby Luigi just ahead of the final spring.
