The LEGO Group has made a big deal about the LEGO SMART Play system this week – but why is it such a big deal?
The big news story of the week in the world of LEGO has certainly been SMART Play. Between a big reveal at CES 2026, a wealth of videos and explainers across the internet, and our own experience hands-on with the SMART Brick in London, it's clear that the latest development in LEGO elements is something the LEGO Group is keen for everyone to know about.
Matthew and Chris from the Brick Fanatics team were invited to get hands-on with the SMART Brick, which you can read about from Chris here and watch along with Matthew in the embedded video below. It's hard to get across the potential of the SMART Play system without actually seeing it in action, so at this early stage of its lifetime, it's well worth seeing what the sets are like in hand.
