This year’s LEGO Star Wars store exclusive set is rumoured to offer a festive take on a classic ship with 40806 Christmas TIE Fighter.
April Fool’s is behind us, and we’re starting to get a better sense of which of yesterday’s rumours are false – and which have a crumb of credibility. Following on from last night’s The Legend of Zelda rumour, Clay_Bricks claims over on reddit that tandnbricks’ Christmas TIE Fighter tease is also not an April Fool’s gag, and will be arriving in stores later this year.
The product number 40806 suggests it’ll be filling the same product slot as 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama and 40755 Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder, which is to say that it will only be available in LEGO Stores and at LEGO.com, and will likely launch in October. That’s just us connecting the dots, though: the only concrete information we have at the moment is that the set will apparently include 697 pieces and a single minifigure.

There’s no word yet on what that minifigure will be, but a Christmas TIE Pilot feels like the obvious choice. What’s more interesting about this set is the proposed piece count, which is heftier than even 2018’s 75211 Imperial TIE Fighter, the biggest and most detailed play-scale LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter to date (which includes just 519 pieces).
You have to imagine that some of those additional elements would go towards achieving the Christmas décor required for a festive TIE Fighter, but there’s also a chance we’re looking at a seasonal side build or two to round out the package. Though those would then likely require additional minifigures, so who knows at this stage…
Remember that this set is only rumoured for now, and we likely won’t get confirmation either way until later in the year if it really is destined for that October release slot. For now, check out the full LEGO Star Wars 2025 slate as things stand in the table below, and head here for a complete rundown of every LEGO 2025 set.
