An early unboxing of LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71039 Marvel Series 2 has confirmed the box distribution for the first batch of blind-boxed characters.
With the introduction of cardboard packaging for Collectible Minifigures – replacing foil bags as part of the LEGO Group’s mission to make all its packaging sustainable by 2025 – these 12 new superheroes and villains are now genuinely a blind purchase. No longer will you be able to stand in the aisle of your local supermarket or toy store feeling plastic bags to determine what’s inside.
That’s bad news for anyone after specific characters (most of us, then), but one potential way to make sure you only buy the minifigures you want is by knowing their distribution. A single display box of 71039 Marvel Series 2 includes 36 individual characters, with three complete collections – and if they’re anything like previous series, they should all be sorted in the same way across each box.
An early unboxing video from YouTuber Ashnflash has now given us a glimpse at that box distribution – and if this mirrors wider distribution among all untouched boxes, you should be able to use it to pick out your faves from 71039 Marvel Series 2. Of course, this requires finding a fresh box in the first place, but nobody said collecting these minifigures was going to be easy…
Boxes of 71039 Marvel Series 2 include two levels of minifigures to accommodate the larger cardboard box packaging. We’ve broken down the distribution across Ashnflash’s box in the tables below.
Update: Ashnflash has clarified that this distribution is specific to North American cases of 71039 Marvel Series 2, while the distribution across European cases is slightly different (but as yet unconfirmed).

There are no guarantees as yet that this will be the same distribution for all LEGO 71039 Marvel Series 2 boxes, but it’s as good a starting point as any ahead of their wide September 1 release.
