LEGO Ideas project takes bookends in a familiar direction

The latest project to reach a LEGO Ideas review round takes the limited range of bookend builds in a fresh, but familiar direction.

The LEGO Group's current bookends include 75691 Glinda & Elphaba Bookends as well as 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express, both opting for different takes on a bookend and LEGO Ideas user Farmfarm is hoping to take the collection down a third path.

Their City Skyline Bookends submission has reached 10,000 supporters and earned a spot in the third 2025 review. The model depicts two sides of a microscale city connected by a bridge with miniature vehicles moving across it. The level of detail achieved on such a small scale is notable, reminding us strongly of a retiring LEGO model.

The builds for the skyscrapers, as well as the background, should remind you of 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City. That's only a compliment to the build, though, already looking like it could be an official LEGO set.

The primary image for the project shows the vehicles moving across the bridge, but that's not something which the build can actually do. This is an area where the LEGO Group could improve on the model by adding such functionality. That's only if the submission is approved for an official set as part of the third 2025 review, where it currently sits awaiting the end of the round's submission period.
