LEGO Ideas Luxo Jr. took longer than usual to become a reality

It took a little longer than usual for 21357 Luxo Jr. to become a reality, with additional checks required by the LEGO Ideas review team.

The LEGO Group today revealed 21357 Luxo Jr., a 613-piece model launching on June 1, 2025. The LEGO Ideas set features a brick-built version of the famous Disney Pixar mascot, along with an Easter egg-packed ball to play with or sit on and squash.

Designed by TOBY1KENOBI20506 (aka Toby Brett), Disney Pixar Luxo Jr Lamp was submitted to the LEGO Ideas review process back in September 2022, going on to get a big thumbs-up from 10K supporters in August 2023 and moving one step closer to becoming a future physical set.

However, when the results of the third LEGO Ideas review of 2023 were announced, it was revealed that Disney Pixar Luxo Jr Lamp would require further consideration before the fan design could proceed any further.

“This is still in review as we have a few final things to check, and we hope to be able to share the final conclusions of this submission once we have completed these steps of the process,” the team said in a LEGO Ideas blog post.

Fast forward a month from that point and Disney Pixar Luxo Jr Lamp was finally officially confirmed, successfully passing through the review stage and ultimately becoming a LEGO Ideas set in 2025.

“We cannot explain how much we are looking forward to bringing this product to life,” explained the LEGO Ideas team in a follow-up blog post, “and want to thank you, the fans, for your patience in waiting for us to reveal the results of this further review.”
