The latest revelation for LEGO NINJAGO's 15th anniversary is that the theme has reached over 1,000 minifigures with the perfect character.
LEGO NINJAGO has officially started to celebrate its 15th anniversary, and it's been an exciting week between the set launches and the tease of a bonus NINJAGO build. An additional revelation may have gone under your nose, though. The release of the new sets earlier this month, including the anniversary range, means that LEGO NINJAGO has now surpassed 1,000 minifigures.
The BrickLink database has now started to add the minifigures and sets from the various 2026 sets, including 71861 The Old Town. The team behind the database have determined that none other than the First Spinjitzu Master is the 1,000th LEGO NINJAGO minifigure.

For anyone not in the know, the First Spinjitzu Master is the creator of the island of NINJAGO and a hugely important figure to the decade-long narrative. Fans have been waiting 15 years for his minifigure, and now it's available in 71861 The Old Town. There's no better character to be LEGO NINJAGO's 1,000th minifigure.
71861 The Old Town is packed with interesting LEGO NINJAGO minifigures, which was a core part of the model during its development.
"I wanted to make sure that we have a really good line-up," shared designer Lee Chi Wing to Bricks By Mind. "I know for a fact that a lot of fans are buying these sets for the minifigures, but of course, the model has to be cool as well. So I really wanted to make sure we delivered on that end.
"The first time we sat down to have our kick-off meeting for the graphics on this model, I remember we had maybe five characters that would be made for this set specifically, and at the time we thought that was perfectly right and the usual amount of exciting characters we'd do for a D2C of this price point. To sit here and look at these 23 minifigures now, and over half of them are specifically made for this set, it's the wildest dream come true."
BrickLink has determined that LEGO NINJAGO is up to 1,032 minifigures and that Zane was the first. While that initial minifigure has now retired, you can find all of the new LEGO NINJAGO minifigures in the 2026 sets, including 71861 The Old Town for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. Our review of the set and its minifigures is available to read here.
