A new LEGO Star Wars cockpit element introduced in this year’s
The LEGO Star Wars team has left behind two decades of Jedi Interceptor design in 2025, replacing the vintage cockpit element that debuted in 2005’s 7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid with a fresh new piece in
In his latest Q&A video, YouTuber MandRproductions tosses out the idea of the new cockpit being used for a future UCS B-wing Starfighter. And comparing the shaping of the element to the source material, it’s hard to say he’s not on the money: the cockpit of the in-universe ship initially follows similar contours to that of the Jedi Interceptor, but stops short in length compared to its prequel counterpart.
That’s exactly the way the new LEGO windshield works too, with solid bricks then used to achieve the curves at the back of
Thanks to its longer shape, the 2012 model had to cover the rear of that element with a series of clips and plates, but the new cockpit piece should sidestep that requirement – opening the door to a more accurate gyroscopic cockpit than in 10227 B-wing Starfighter. It’s worth noting too that the B-wing is the only original trilogy alphabet ship that has never been remade at UCS scale, so we wouldn’t be especially surprised to see the LEGO Star Wars team give it another go in 2026 or 2027.

This is all just speculation at this point, but it’s common knowledge that the LEGO Group generally only creates new moulds if they can be used in multiple sets (with the frequent exception of specific minifigure pieces, especially in LEGO Star Wars). The new cockpit will doubtless find its way into many future Jedi Interceptors, but it would be great to see it pop up in a new UCS B-wing too.
