Pair LEGO Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square with the perfect CMFs

There are multiple collectible minifigures already released that will pair perfectly with the upcoming 10332 Medieval Town Square.

Next month sees the release of 10332 Medieval Town Square, a 3,304-piece build that will be priced at £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99. The upcoming LEGO Icons set launches exclusively for LEGO Insiders on March 1, while everyone else can then pick up the model from March 4.

10332 Medieval Town Square is in fact the spiritual successor to 10193 Medieval Market Village, a classic LEGO Castle set that was released in 2009. The LEGO Icons build also includes eight minifigures, which is a reasonable amount to start filling out your brick-built slice of medieval civilian life.

However, if 10332 Medieval Town Square feels as if it should come with even more characters, then there is a solution. Thanks to various LEGO CMF releases over the years, there are in fact many more minifigures that would pair perfectly with next month’s LEGO Icons release.

Here’s our list of 17 CMF characters essential for expanding 10332 Medieval Town Square, although do note you may have to find some on the secondary market if they’re not already part of your collection.

Forestman – 8683 Series 1

The first LEGO CMF launched in 2010 and included a Forestman minifigure who harks back to classic Castle sets of the past. At first glance the character would also seem to be the legendary Robin Hood himself in all but name.

Evil Knight – 8831 Series 7

This menacing minifigure was the first medieval villain to be included in a LEGO CMF. The Evil Knight wears black and silver armour with a distinctive helmet, plus has a boar’s head logo shield that doesn’t appear to match any classic Castle era factions.

Heroic Knight and Forest Maiden
– 71000 Series 9

Decked out in silvery suit of armour, Heroic Knight debuted in 71000 Series 9 in 2013. Forest Maiden is also included here as she could be a good fit for 10332 Medieval Town Square, even if the character has more of a fantasy-look to her.

Wizard and Jester – 71007 Series 12

In the absence of Majisto in any LEGO CMF to date, 71007 Series 12 instead conjured up this colourful Wizard minifigure. In addition, a Jester was also added to the line-up of blind-bagged characters, possibly for the amusement of our next character.

Classic King – 71008 Series 13

Fitting right in with 10332 Medieval Town Square (no doubt due to his fondness for cheese), the Classic King is a minifigure that could have easily appeared in last year’s 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, right alongside the Queen.

Frightening Knight and Queen – 71011 Series 15

Two medieval-themed minifigures popped up in 71011 Series 15 in 2016. Frightening Knight shows his allegiance to the Bear faction that appeared between 2004-2005, while the Queen perfectly complements 71008 Series 13’s Classic King.

Rogue – 71013 Series 16

At first glance, the Rogue minifigure in 71013 Series 16 may not seem an obvious fit for 10332 Medieval Town Square. However, the character’s animal clasp denotes him as a member of the Wolfpack faction, similar to the one in the upcoming LEGO Icons set.

Unicorn Guy – 71021 Series 18

71021 Series 18 had an overall party theme to it, but it’s Unicorn Guy’s shield, golden sword and torso crown insignia that earn him a spot here. He’ll also pair well with two minifigures from 71034 Series 23, as we’ll see shortly.

Fright Knight – 71025 Series 19

The first Fright Knight faction character to be included in a LEGO CMF boasts a spooky head print, trans-clear blue sword and printed bat insignia shield and torso. He’d be joined in 2024 by an even more sinister member of that creepy clan…

Tournament Knight – 71027 Series 20

71027 Series 20 featured the Tournament Knight, a tough warrior decked out in a distinctive yellow, black and maroon colour scheme. The character’s crow (or raven) shield doesn’t seem to tie him to any specific classic LEGO Castle faction though.

Troubadour – 71032 Series 22

A medieval era character next appeared in 71032 Series 22, with the arrival of the Troubadour. The jolly minstrel came with a brightly-coloured outfit and printed lute, as well as coins marked with the King’s crown insignia.

Knight of the Yellow Castle Battle and Green Dragon Costume – 71034 Series 23

Rounding out a trio of more light-hearted characters to add to 10332 Medieval Town Square are the Knight of the Yellow Castle Battle and Green Dragon Costume. Combine them with Unicorn Guy for ye olde fun and games in the LEGO Icons set.

Falconer – 71037 Series 24

A member of the Black Falcon faction, the Falconer wears a familiar blue outfit, with dual-moulded legs and a red hair piece. The character also comes with a unique falcon figure to supplement 10332 Medieval Town Square’s various animals.

Vampire Knight – 71045 Series 25

Allegedly the infamous Basil the Bat Lord himself, the Vampire Knight is easily the standout minifigure in 71045 Series 25. The character first appeared way back in 1997 as the leader of the Fright Knights, before finally returning in the first LEGO CMF of 2024.
